Shrimp (Prawn) is a type of crustacean used as food in the Decapoda class of crabs and lobsters. They live in almost all types of water all over the world. Some species hide in mud or sand near the seashore or in rock crevices. Others swim in groups in the cold waters of the deep sea. They are gray, brown, white, or pink in color. Some have stripes, and some have different types of feet. Some shrimps are also red, yellow, green, and blue in color. Some species change color to adapt to the environment. Many deep-sea shrimps are luminescent. The size of shrimp is usually 2.5 cm to 30 cm.
Shrimp are omnivores and scavengers, and some are planktivores. Some species of female shrimp carry fertilized eggs in the reproductive appendages under the abdomen until they hatch. Other shrimp lay fertilized eggs in water. In most species, the nauplius larva hatches from the egg and passes through several stages until it reaches adulthood. Bangladesh can be called a country rich in shrimps due to the abundance of shrimps in the Bay of Bengal, estuaries, and freshwater. A total of 56 species of shrimps have been identified in Bangladesh and among them, 37 are salt water, 12 are brackish water, and 7 are freshwater. - 1 kg Prawns
- 4 cups coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons of sour yogurt
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 3 tbsp onion batter
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon raw garlic paste
- ⅓ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- ½ tsp hot spice powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 tow bay leaves
- 1 piece of cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 2 tow small cardamom
- 1/2 cup mustard oil
- 1 tablespoon of ghee
cooking method
First, clean the prawns and peel them, wash and drain the
water, then add a little salt and turmeric powder and fry them lightly in mustard oil. In the same oil, boil bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom, and fry them lightly. Add onion paste, ginger paste, and green chili paste when the onion is lightly fried and grind it very well on medium flame. When the masala is fried well, add salt to taste, turmeric powder, and chili powder and grind it very well. Masala When the oil starts to leave, add sour curd and grind the curd very well until the oil is removed. When the oil starts to leave from the sour curd mixture, fry the prawns and a little coconut milk and grind the prawns very well. Once grated, mix well with the remaining coconut milk and cook on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. After 5 minutes, spread garam masala powder and ghee and mix well, cover and keep off the gas for 10 minutes. This is how the shrimp fish malaikari happened.
