  Crocodile Crocodile; Suborder Crocodilines, also known as true crocodiles, are aquatic quadrupeds. They are found in Africa, Asia, North and  South America , and Australia. Although crocodiles, alligators, and gharials look similar in general, they belong to a separate class biologically. The tip of the gharial's mouth is round. However, it becomes a bit difficult to separate alligators and crocodiles. Externally, the crocodile's head is narrow and long in shape. Alligator's face is more like an English U (U) shape and the crocodile's face is more like an English V (V) shape. The upper and lower jaws of crocodiles are of the same width and the teeth of the lower jaw overlap the teeth of the upper jaw when the mouth is closed.
