Crocodile; Suborder Crocodilines, also known as true crocodiles, are aquatic quadrupeds. They are found in Africa, Asia, North and South America, and Australia.
Although crocodiles, alligators, and gharials look similar in general, they belong to a separate class biologically. The tip of the gharial's mouth is round. However, it becomes a bit difficult to separate alligators and crocodiles. Externally, the crocodile's head is narrow and long in shape. Alligator's face is more like an English U (U) shape and the crocodile's face is more like an English V (V) shape. The upper and lower jaws of crocodiles are of the same width and the teeth of the lower jaw overlap the teeth of the upper jaw when the mouth is closed. As a result, the teeth are seen in that condition. Alligators do not have this feature. Crocodiles are more aggressive than other animals of the same class.

All crocodiles are similar in shape and biology. But their size, nature, behavior, and habitat types vary from species to species. Although there are several similarities between them in all these respects. All crocodiles are semi-aquatic animals. They mainly live in the freshwater of rivers, lakes, and swamps. Some species of crocodiles also live in semi-saline and brackish waters. They are carnivores. Their main diet is mainly fish, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Crocodiles live in equatorial regions. They are sensitive to cold environments. They diverged from other crocodilian species during the Eocene epoch about 5.5 million years ago. Like other phyla, this branch has survived despite various mass extinctions for the past 22.5 million years. However, many species of crocodiles are now threatened or endangered due to habitat problems and poaching.

Crocodile behavior

The crocodile's claws are attached to each other by webbing but do not help the feet to move. The tail helps the crocodile to swim, move and turn quickly in the water. The average lifespan of a crocodile is 30-40 years. Larger species have a lifespan of 60-70 years.
Crocodiles can never cry. Crocodiles take up a lot of air while eating. Which activates the tear-producing glands located in the eye. Due to this, water comes out of the eyes. People also cry because of this gland. When this gland becomes inactive, people cannot cry. Finally, it can be said that crocodiles do not actually cry. Water comes out of crocodiles' eyes to get extra air.
